Past Community Outreach Programs

Holiday Canned Food Drive with Second Harvest Food Bank

In December 2024, we partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to collect non-perishable canned goods like soups, vegetables, fruits, proteins (tuna, chicken), and beans. With the help of the A-Team coaches and community, we were able to donate an abundance of food right on time for the holidays.

Donation Collection for The Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative (BAWSI)

For Women’s History Awareness Month, we decided to support a local organization that supports and empowers young women to get active, believe in themselves, and improve their beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors about Physical Activity.

We collected donations to strive for A-Team become a purple-level sponsor ($2,500) for The Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative (BAWSI) spring gala that took place on May 7th, 2021.

Fundraiser for BBA Gym

Like many fitness businesses in early 2021, our friends at BBA were navigating a challenging economic landscape. The pandemic had taken a toll on the fitness industry, with many gyms facing reduced memberships and financial strain. We wanted to support BBA in their efforts to adapt and thrive. Recognizing that new outdoor equipment, such as a Rogue Rig, would greatly benefit their clients and expand their training capabilities, we decided to lend a hand. A-Team committed to contributing $1,000 towards BBA's $4,000 fundraising goal by the end of March 2021, standing in solidarity with a fellow gym and investing in our shared community's health and fitness.

Continued Partnership with Women Rising Above Abuse

  • In October 2020, A-Team teamed up with Women Rising Above Abuse, a nonprofit organization that set out to empower, strengthen and uplift those who have suffered from abuse - focusing on Domestic Violence. A-team collected enough funds to donate two twin mattresses, one full mattress, a fire extinguisher, a work calendar, and over $400 in Safeway food gift cards.

  • A-Team teamed up with Women Rising Above Abuse again in December 2020 to collect over $300 for their kids section.

  • Coach Alesha taught a charity class for Women Rising Above Abuse on January 3, 2021.

Partnership with CORA for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

At a time of great uncertainty, those experiencing domestic violence still needed access to quality health and fitness options. For Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, we provided free access to A-Team's virtual boot camps for staff and patrons of CORA (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse), a non-profit serving survivors of intimate partner abuse in San Mateo County. This initiative offered support and wellness opportunities to those affected by domestic violence during a challenging period.

Partnership with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley

Acknowledging the widespread hardship in our community, particularly during the Thanksgiving season, A-Team wanted to express our gratitude for all that we had. The economic crisis brought on by the pandemic deepened poverty for many families and led others to seek food assistance for the first time.

Believing that everyone deserves access to a healthy meal, we joined Second Harvest of Silicon Valley's community of supporters to help provide food to people in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties each month. We encouraged our community to donate by November 25th, knowing that gifts would be matched $1 for $1 by Second Harvest supporters up to $1 million.

Silicon Valley’s community of supporters helped provide food to an average of 500,000 people in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties each month — double the number of neighbors served in February. Click here for a link to donate today.

Partnership with Loaves & Fishes

A-Team Fitness collected food for Loaves and Fishes, a vital local non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger in our community. We encouraged everyone to contact us to learn how they could help support their important work.

Loaves and Fishes is a nonprofit community service organization providing hot, nutritious meals prepared, delivered, and served to hungry and homeless families, children, seniors, veterans, students, and disabled individuals. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, hunger affected 44% of children and 12% of seniors in Santa Clara County. These numbers have significantly increased due to the pandemic's ongoing impact.
